On Oct. 24, 2022 elections were held throughout Ontario for Trustees. I’d like to congratulate Tim McAlpine who was elected at your Trustee for Wards 2& 3. Tim’s past is closely linked to TLDSB, and I’m sure that experience will be a real asset as he navigates to his new role as Trustee.
However, I do leave with mixed feelings, but no regrets. It was my pleasure to serve as your Trustee for the last 12 years. Administrator, Principals, Teachers and most importantly students always me feel welcome when I visited classrooms. I was very fortunate to be part of many changes (and challenges) throughout the past 12 years. I witnessed students going from notebooks to electronic devises. Robotics becoming a skill which was not even thought of in 2010 when I first became Trustee. Teachers had to adapt to an every changing classroom/world and new challenges that
no one could have imagined, especially within the last two years.
In closing, I’d like to thank everyone I have met within TLDSB. It has been a rewarding experience. One I will never forget. I wish everyone the best for whatever the future holds for you.
